1st pl:  1-3 teams      at district - (1)teams advances
2nd pl:  4-6 teams      at district - (2)teams advance
3rd pl:  7-9 teams      at district - (3)teams advance
4th pl:  10-12 teams    at district - (4)teams advance
5th pl:  13-15 teams    at district - (5)teams advance
6th pl:  16-18 teams    at district - (6)teams advance
7th pl:  19-21 teams    at discrict - (7)teams advance

1.) The same # of teams that qualify for D I will also qualify for D II. Exception: Teams that received a 1st-10th place finish in the 2007 D I or 1st-4th in D II may advance ONLY if they play (not place) in the 2008 District Tournament. This is a National AAU basketball rule. Other exceptions apply, which are detailed in the national handbook. 2.) Teams that qualify for a National Championship and do NOT wish to attend MUST let the Sports Director know IN WRITING no later than 8 days after the District qualifier.  If notice is NOT given the coach/team/club in question will NOT be extended an invitation during the next AAU season since they deprived another team from attending a National Championship event.
